About the course
Who is the 30-hour construction course for?
Supervisors, foremen, crew leads, project managers, safety coordinators and experienced workers taking on more safety responsibility. It covers more topics, in more depth, than 10-hour entry-level training.
What topics are covered?
The Focus Four hazards (falls, electrocution, struck-by and caught-in or between), PPE, health hazards, stairways and ladders, scaffolds, excavations, cranes, fire protection, tools, concrete and masonry, welding, safety leadership and more. See the full outline.
Is the course available in Spanish?
The course is currently offered in English. Let us know if you need Spanish and we’ll notify you when it’s available.
Do I need any experience?
No experience is required, though the course is written for people who work in or around construction.
Time and progress
How long do I have to finish?
180 days from the day you start.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes. Up to 7.5 hours of study time counts each day, so the 30 hours take at least 4 days. Your time only counts while you are actively studying.
How is my time tracked?
The course counts active time automatically. The clock pauses when you switch tabs, minimize the window or stop interacting, and your session ends after several minutes away. Short check-in questions appear while you study; answer them to keep your session going.
Can I study on my phone?
Use a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam for the best experience and for identity checks.
Can I skip lessons or fast-forward videos?
No. Modules unlock in order, and videos must be watched in full the first time. You can always rewind and review.
Quizzes and the final exam
Are there quizzes?
Yes. Each section ends with a short quiz you must pass to continue.
What score do I need on the final exam?
80% or higher. The final exam unlocks after you complete all 30 hours of training.
What if I don’t pass the final exam?

Identity and integrity
Why do you check my identity?
So employers can trust that the person named on the card is the person who did the training. Checks happen at sign-up and at random points during the course.
Can someone else take the course for me, or can I use AI?
No. The course must be completed by you personally. Using another person, automation tools or AI agents is not allowed. It’s detected, earns no training time and can result in removal without a card.
Your card
When will I get my card?
Our safety consultant reviews and signs your card, usually within 1 to 2 business days after you finish. You can download it immediately, and a wallet card is mailed to you.
Does my card expire?
The card does not expire. Some employers and jurisdictions require refresher training every few years, so check their rules.
How can an employer check that my card is real?
By scanning the QR code on the back of the card, or entering the card number and your last name at our verification page.
I lost my card. Can I get a replacement?
Yes, one replacement within 5 years of issue. Contact us.
My name is spelled wrong or has changed.
Contact us before your card is issued and we’ll correct it. After issue, we can provide a corrected replacement.
Will this card meet my state, city or employer requirement?
Requirements vary by employer, contract and jurisdiction. Please confirm with them before you enroll. We’re happy to answer questions about the course content and card.
